Beginners guide to Doordash
Search in video
all right guys so there's a lot of
videos that are out there already that
are just like this but
mine's better who wants to sit through a
20-minute video and watch paint dry so
this is everything you need to know
about doordash in less than five minutes
let's say you've already signed up pass
the background check and your account is
good to go
to start your first delivery you can
click on dash now but if you can't do
that the schedule is released for
everybody
six days in advance at midnight if you
don't want to stay up until midnight
that's understandable wake up in the
morning and look at the sixth
day on the schedule or the second to
last and you'll have all sorts of shifts
and half an hour intervals you can
schedule for upon signing up doordash
will tell you that they're going to send
you a red card as well as a hot bag now
the hotbag one is obvious it's you know
just a bag that keeps the food warm but
keep in mind there's a lot of
restaurants that have bags that won't
even fit in this hot bag
two that come to my mind is bob evans
and applebee's
once you get some money on your hands
you can buy some better ones on amazon
for like twelve to twenty dollars
and as for the red card think of it as
like a company card you use the red card
to pay at restaurants that don't already
have mobile ordering or like an online
payment system
typically smaller businesses and you use
it to pay for shop and deliver orders
like cvs and walgreens but doordash will
let you know before you even accept the
order that is a red card order what
orders to accept learn what restaurants
in your area you want to take and what
to avoid
if you're fast food restaurants like you
know mcdonald's burger king taco bell if
their lobbies are closed
chances are you don't want to take that
in the middle of a lunch or dinner rush
a lot of places are drive through only
because of the pandemic and honestly
you're gonna be waiting there 20 minutes
and if you're going to be waiting there
20 minutes for six or seven dollars it's
probably not going to be worth it
if you take an order and then you get
there and you realize the line is longer
than
thor's holy penis then you can click the
question mark unassign the order and be
on your way but just know you can't do
that too much i'll get back to that
a lot of the times the orders i take
i'll look at it from a mathematical
standpoint if the mileage is more than
half of the total payout of the order
aka
this or this it's not going to be worth
it you want to try and do at least
one dollar per mile round trip all right
now let's go to the rating system
this only matters after you've completed
100 deliveries
this doesn't matter we are gifted the
ability to say no to orders we don't
want to take so let's use that
the only incentive you get from keeping
your acceptance rate high is the top
dasher program which is a joke the top
dasher program is a program that lets
you dash whenever you want you don't
need to schedule you can go out anytime
you want which is nice but
you have to keep your acceptance rate
above 70 and all of your ratings should
be high now on paper that doesn't sound
bad but a 70
acceptance rate means you're going to be
taking a lot of low ball orders no tip
um high mileage and you're really going
to cut your hourly rate by five to ten
dollars an hour just to be able to dash
whenever and if you're smart with your
scheduling and you make sure to keep
remembering to check on it
um it's not really worth it your
completion rate does matter
again if you get to a restaurant you're
waiting way too long and you want to
unassign the order and go and
you know cut your losses you can do that
just be careful after 100 deliveries you
don't want your completion rate to be
below 80
and to be honest with you i wouldn't
even get it below 90 there's going to be
some times where you absolutely need to
unassign an order where you cannot
afford to wait that long you want to
make sure you have your get out of jail
free card anything below 80
can get you deactivated lastly i'm going
gonna explain the payout
so doordash pays you three dollars base
pay now doordash will not show you a tip
more than five dollars so
let's say someone orders on the app and
they tip 15
and then obviously you get your three
dollar base pay now when doordash sends
you the order and offers it to you it's
actually only going to say eight dollars
so it's only going to show you five
dollars of their tip
and then the three dollar base pay they
do this to eliminate cherry picking but
of course as soon as you finish the
order you complete it you hand it to
them whatever then you will see the
remainder of the tip
however do not gamble on this if you see
an order going 10 miles and it's only
eight dollars you probably don't want to
take it because if you get to their
house and you hand it to them and you
realize that it was only eight dollars
it was only the five dollar tip and
you're
also don't take walmart did i miss
anything comment below let these people
know what's up anyways good luck and
make some money i'll make sure to
subscribe and like the video
