at the beginning because i was taking

videos of myself i didn't know who was

even watching them but then at the end

of the project they actually did

than taking surveys for money then it

might even be better than having a

part-time job because

one you can do it from the comfort of

all entirely online two they pay you

way more than the minimum wage and three

you can work at your own pace unlike

working at a job

for completing this project and all you

if you don't know what this is then you

don't have it

no qualification once all this

information is confirmed

go ahead and click that save and submit

then a pen might ask you if you have an

internet enabled smartphone

if you're watching this video chances

are you do have a device so click

so because this is a transcription job

that means you're pretty much getting

this much amount of sense to transcribe

literally write something down based on

some audio that you hear

paid to work these things okay once you

they will always tell you the

requirements or what you

i must reside in the united states

i must be an english speaker and i must

have the ability to record in a quiet

indoor environment i fulfill all three

of those things

so there's a very high chance that i'm

going to actually succeed when i apply

phone i can definitely apply for this

different requirements of

a smart device and stylus and the

ability to write using that stylus

now fortunately my phone actually does

through the process of actually applying

for one of these projects

and see what they ask of us

so let's go ahead and click apply so

these are going to be the kinds of

questions that they ask you

when you're actually applying for one of

these projects of course it's going to

be different

based on what project that you go into

but it's going to look like something

similar to this over here

i'm fairly certain for this youtube

video i'm actually allowed to show you

what they ask

but i'm not allowed to show you how i

respond to this project in order to

actually get qualified for it

but i can tell you that a good rule of

thumb in order to actually

get accepted into these programs is to

one just tell the truth and two only

apply to those projects

that you actually qualify for in the

first place

once you submit that information there's

going to be even more forms you fill out

for example this one right over here

statements of independent

contractor status they're pretty much

just saying that you are officially an

independent contractor underneath a pen

and they don't owe you

any kind of health care or benefits at

all honestly i could care less

so scroll down and accept services

agreements

and once we submitted all forms we

possibly could we're gonna see a thank

you screen

similar to this and we have to wait to

see if we actually get accepted

into this program so by now at this

point here's what's actually happening

okay

wherever you accept your mail you should

be getting notifications whenever you do

something in a pen that's important

for example them asking you for

documents and you filling out those

documents and completing them

so this whole time they actually sent us

two different emails but

they sent us an email almost immediately

after we submitted our forms over here

telling us that we're getting an invite

to do this

project so i just got confirmed that i'm

going to be working this project for

them

and getting this two thousand dollars

after i send them my 100 audio

recordings

that's so fantastic now if you went to

go check your emails

and you didn't get any kind of email

saying that you're actually invited to

the project immediately after you

submitted your form then don't get

discouraged

this happens all the time what i'd

suggest you to do if this is the case

is to just go back to a pen and click on

that all projects button over there and

if you haven't gotten accepted into

anything yet

click on either the suggested or the all

projects button

and start scrolling and checking out

more and more of these projects and

apply to the ones

that fit you if on the other hand you

got lucky

and you did get accepted right away or

maybe you got accepted later down

the line go ahead and click on the my

projects

section under the all projects instead

and you could see

the project that you were actually

qualified for now this is super

important guys

if you actually have a work this button

that is clickable

you can start clicking on it and start

working on your project immediately

but if you hover over the work this

button and you see a

coming soon check out later if the

project is already available to work

then that means that you might have some

pending work available that you haven't

completed yet

if this is the case you might need to go

back to your emails

they may have emailed you some special

instructions that you haven't completed

yet

that you need to do before you actually

start working the task

for example in my invite email i can see

that i have this survey link over here

that they're actually asking me to

complete before i even start the project

at all

so i should go complete that and

whatever additional emails you send me

with other instructions as well

mobile this app is actually going to be

super important for a bunch of different

projects

that you're going to apply to on a pen

it's gonna look something like this

go ahead and install it and ignore the

hopefully you guys don't have as many

problems as these guys

in a pen and we're just gonna log in

with our information

it's gonna ask us if we want to allow

pen to see our device location

permission and using this app you can

actually see

the other projects that you could

possibly do on here so it's really great

that they're providing us

a mobile application to browse this

stuff but the reality of it is that i

never use a mobile app

to apply to any of these projects i use

it to actually work

the projects that require the mobile app

i do this by selecting the second icon

over here that says my

and you can see the project that i just

qualified for

so when i go into it i can see the

description and the task list

over here but when i click on it right

now i'm not going to have any tasks on

it yet

because they're still rolling it out to

me right now but for reference for you

this is exactly the screen that you

would go to in order to complete your

tasks

for your projects if it were a mobile

project

if it's not one that requires your

mobile device you're probably just going

to end up completing everything on your

desktop but definitely go ahead and

install this app anyway

in case you end up needing to do this in

the future

so now that you're signed up to a pen

you're starting to work on projects and

you're getting your invoices

in order do you want to learn how to

if you actually start completing your

projects and start earning money

you're gonna start to see a section that

says referrals right over here

if you click on it you can see that

append has a referral program

that if you invite an active member

to a pen using your links you will

get money

that you earned within a pen straight

into your bank account

if you are completing projects chances

are your view is going to look

probably a little bit more similar to

this instead of what you had before

initially you have a lot more options

now over here

but the one you really want to focus in

on is the my

invoices section go ahead and click on

that and you can see yes indeed

i did get paid out that 450 that i was

talking about

just earlier this is because i created

an invoice

within a pen about my work now you might

be asking well ted

why don't they just pay me out

immediately after i complete a task

well it's because there are certain

projects that might take months to

complete and a pen knows that you might

want your money a little bit sooner than

that month especially if you work those

hours in that day

why wouldn't you get the money sooner so

depending on the project if you actually

create an

invoice they might actually pay you

weekly bi-weekly or just after the

project's entirely done regardless

you're going to want to go over here

and click on the create button anyway

super super key stuff that you should

know over here okay

if there's projects that you're working

on that have auto generated

invoices you probably don't have to

worry too much about this process

for example over here it actually says

that two of the projects i'm already

on have auto generated invoices

so i don't really have to worry too much

about this process but

if you don't have auto generated

invoices you have to go in here and

select the dates that you're working on

for example if the date was today you

would select today

type regular project you would have a

drop down of which project you were

working on it for

test type would depend on what project

you were doing if this was an hourly

task you would type in either your hours

or minutes

and if this was a task based on the

number of times you did something

you would type that in here instead and

after you're done with all that all you

got to do is click

submit invoice for approval of course

for your first time doing invoices and

getting paid

you're probably going to have to fill

out information about your bank

for example your bank name account

number and routing number

and that's how they actually turn those

invoices into direct deposits

to your bank my goodness if you guys are

as excited as i am to start making good

money with a pen
